Hello everyone,
I’ve recently teamed up with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism to run 26.2 miles this coming January, during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! I am beyond excited to be taking this journey, and training has begun!
A bit about me: “Marathon Runner” is NOT a term I would use to describe myself. During my junior year of college I participated in the Johnny Kelly half marathon and struggled with every second of the training. Running has never been my favorite sport, but this new challenge holds greater meaning to me than just the physical hardship.
Running for The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation struck me as an extremely exciting opportunity. Running on the team will give my supporters and I the opportunity to be a part of something greater than ourselves.
The Foundation’s promise is to “provide programs and activities that improve the quality of everyday life for people and families affected by autism along seven key dimensions that are critical to living each day fully. [They] aim to provide a path for education and/or employment during the day; opportunities for physical and social activity outside of work/school; and the tools to be safe, supported, and informed at all times”.
Your generous support allows the Flutie Foundation to fund and operate programs that help people with autism get access to services, lead more active lifestyles, and grow toward adult independence.
I am so honored to be a part of this team and grateful for the opportunity to make an impact. I strongly believe our contributions will help make a difference in the lives of so many affected by autism.
Thank you in advance for your generous donations and thank YOU for making a difference!
