Please Help Me Fight Rett Syndrome
I'm running the Princess Half Marathon for my Princess
This is my first year joining Team GP2C at the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend. I am running for my 7 year old daughter Ella who suffers from Rett Syndrome, a severe neurological disorder that primarily affects females. I am not a runner (far from it), but watching Ella deal with her challenges every day motivates me to challenge myself, and and running a race like this is certainly a challenge!
Breakthroughs in research are moving us closer to possible treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome. One of the most exciting developments involves gene therapy. Within the next year, there are plans to begin clinical trials for gene therapy as a treatment for Rett Syndrome. Team GP2C has participatated in the Disney Princess race for over 10 years to raise money to support these reaserch efforts. This year's team goal us to raise over $200,000. With your help we can continue to make a difference.
