I am proud to say that I this year will be my 3rd time running in honor of my friend Sophia Lafort

My dear friend Holly’s daughter, Sophia, was diagnosed with Rett’s at the age of 2 and I am actively involved with Girl Power to find a cure to make her life as well as other little girls affected by the syndrome lives better.  The Syndrome is neurological disorder that mainly affects girls.  Each of us take the simple things like walking, eating, and talking for granted each day.  However, these girls once diagnosed, will never be able to walk on their own, verbally talk, use their hands to feed themselves, etc.  Most can only speak through their eyes.  These girls affected by the syndrome are beautiful, amazing, and intelligent.

To simply state, the eyes have it; her eyes, windows to the soul, take us to cherished places within her heart.  Her eyes do more than see us.  They touch us. Every human emotion is whispered, sung, shouted by her dancing, sparkling eyes. – Dr Alan Percy

Today, there is no cure. But Rett Syndrome is CURABLE! Research has proven once protein levels are back to normal levels, symptoms subside, but we need the funds to turn this scientific fact into a living world reality. With your support, we can make this happen!
