Sweet Caroline’s Crew is back at it again this year as we take on the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon in February and I am so honored to be running for my best friend, Jeanna, our big girl warrior, Caroline, and all those affected by Rett Syndrome.

This year we’re upping the ante and will be running the Disney Princess Challenge: a 10k on Saturday, February 23rd, and the 1/2 marathon on Sunday, February 24th! While 19+ miles in two days may seem overwhelming, I understand that I am never alone on the course for I run in solidarity with all my Rett family. Together, we hold on tightly to our unfaltering hope that we can find a cure for this devastating disorder.

Part of Team GP2C’s motto has always been #untilshecan so this year, just as the ones before it, I run for all those affected by Rett Syndrome—many of whom are unable to speak, walk, or use their hands, and who face breathing tubes, seizures, anxiety, gastrointestinal and orthopedic issues. I run to show my love and support to Jeanna and her family. I run so that others know that they are seen and heard and honored.
