Racing for Diana & Rett Syndrome
A few years ago I became aware of a program called I Run 4 Michael that pairs runners with children with disabilities. I was so blessed to be paired with Diana, a young lady who has Rett Syndrome. I was unaware of Rett syndrome until meeting Diana and her family. Since first meeting Diana, I have dedicated my running and races to her, and use every opportunity to raise awareness of Rett Syndrome.
Last year, we raised the money needed for a running wheelchair, which allows her mom to push Diana while she runs. This was the first step in making a bigger dream come true. Next year at the Disney Princess Half Marathon, Diana's mother and I will push her to the finish line.
For those who have ever crossed a finish line, you know what an experience that can be, and we are so excited to offer the same to Diana. I appreciate any donations towards Rett and our opportunity to push Diana across that finish line.
