Most of you who know me, know Lily or about her.  She is my sweet and sassy 10 year old social ?   She loves to be at the pool or out at the park watching her good friend Abby play fast pitch softball.  She is curious, funny and a little mischievous.  She has a good eye for good  looking young men and knows how to get her flirtt on! Lily’s favorite color is ?and her favorite flavor is peach ?.  Lily also Rett Syndrome, a severe neurological disorder that robs girls of their ability to walk, talk and have purposeful use of their hands along with a myriad of other challenges.

Now had I’d been telling our story 4-5 years ago I may have had a slightly different tone.  Back then I was more sad, more fearful of what her futire holds.  I still am, some days, but here is the thing...Lily is the happiest kid I know!  She is strong, patient, intelligent and she works SO hard!  She has made incredible progress due to a team of people that believe in her, push her and love her for who she is!  

Five years ago it was a very challenging for her to bare weight with support on her own two feet. Today she walks up and down the halls of her school in her walker all by herself!  Her stength and perseverance inspire me more than I can express.  She has taught me so much and made me stronger than I ever knew I could be.  She is my hero!  She deserves a childhood where she can run and play with her peers, go to sleepovers and tell secrets!  

I am her voice.  She is my heart!?
