Five years ago, I started training for my first Disney Princess Half Marathon. I logged mile after mile, building my endurance, my confidence, and my determination to finish 13.1 in honor of my daughter Evie. Every step moved me further from despair and closer to hope. Hope in a cure for Rett Syndrome. Today we are closer to a cure than I ever dreamed possible five years ago.

Breakthroughs in research are moving us closer to possible treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome. One of the most exciting development is in the world of gene therapy. Within the next year, there are plans to begin clinical trials for gene therapy as a treatment for Rett Syndrome!
