When is the date and time of the event?
The Powerhouse Ministries Dragon Boat Festival is on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 AM @ Black Miners Bar in Folsom.
How much does it cost to be a paddler?
Each paddler must fundraise or pay $275.00 to participate. These funds can be raised in a variety of ways (fundraising, sponsorship, or personal donation to name a few.)
Can I register as an individual?
YES! You can register as an individual paddler, and we will place you on a team. This is a great way to meet new people and get active.
How many people are on a team?
There are 17 people per team. Teams are made up of 16 paddlers and 1 drummer.
Do I need experience rowing?
No, we have experienced coaches to help each team during their 1-hour practice session the week before the festival.
Do I need to supply my boat?
No, we are partnering with a company called 22Dragons which supplies 30-foot-long Dragon Boats.
When do I need to register?
All teams must register by March 7th to receive a t-shirt. Final registration is March 31st.
How old do I need to be to participate?
Participants must be at least 11 years old.
Do I need to raise additional funds past my $275.00?
No, you only need to raise $275.00. Once you do that you can continue to raise funds if you choose. There are prizes for teams who raise the most money.
How can I be a part of this event without paddling?
We have different sponsorship levels available and a Vendor Village where businesses and organizations can apply for and host a 10'x10' space. You can also come out and cheer on your favorite team!
