We have been on the Down syndrome journey for 5 years now and I have to say, what an amazing journey it's been! Melia has taught us so much and we are so thankful to have her in our lives! Down syndrome does not define her but it is a part of who she is.  Melia presents with some challenges, but every child does!  When I look at Melia, I see a little girl who is wicked smart, who loves dancing and music, Mother Goose Club, her baby dolls, and her brothers.  We are walking to help raise awareness of Down syndrome.  DSAW has provided families with so many wonderful resources such as grants for additional outside therapies and programs, presentations by doctors and other experts sharing information regarding various Ds topics, Ds family outings, etc.  Melia and many of our friends have benefited from many of these resources and we hope to continue as she she gets older.  Please help support our team!
