David was diagnosed with Down Syndrome before he was born... We loved him no matter what! Our precious son was born the end of November of 2006. We were so grateful for him! In our eyes he is PERFECT! David has 2 older brothers, John & Jerry. They accepted him with open arms just like our families. David was delayed in his speech but it has grown so much. He is now 8 years old & is able to keep up with his peers for the most part. More than we every thought! He attends school with his normal peers & loves being with them. They help him out more than you can imagine- they are his role models in school. The students guide him by helping him out with achievements that he needs help in. David participates every year for the Down Syndrome walk along with a motorcycle ride that raises money for Awareness for Down Syndrome. The last couple years he has been their poster child. He has participated in the Special Olympics swimming & track so far this past year. Everyone loves being around David for he is very friendly & loves attention & praises. He always has a smile on his face! No matter who you are or what kind of day your having one look at him will bring a smile to your face also.
I am asking family & friends to help by donating to " Walking with David " to show support for special event funding, make more events possible! Funding goes toward helping families dealing Down Syndrome to give them opportunities for the children to achieve activities like a normal child.
