President Ivy's 40 Years Fundraiser!
In my 7 years with the Denver Women’s Chorus I have had opportunities I could not have dreamed of before joining. I’ve performed at Red Rocks and Carnegie Hall, soloed on a track from one of my favorite albums of all time, worked as a professional singer in a commercial for a major national brand, sung the lead in one of my favorite musicals, been elected president. But most importantly, I’ve been grounded in queerness and song. Every week I join with my community where I learn, can see and be seen, welcome new versions of myself and advocate for my siblings. The Denver Women’s Chorus is my favorite thing about being a person, and the organization is vitally important to people like myself. The Denver Women's Chorus 40 years on, at HerStory, Our Future
My favorite show DWC has ever done, singing about our rights to our own bodies. Abortion, gender care, ours. This show was a labor of love of the singers who put it together between abortion rights being ripped away and the performance that November. It was so powerful we were selected for a featured performance at GALA Festival this summer.
