The Empty Bowls Silent Auction supports the mission of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank: “Nourishing neighbors with food, education, and advocacy,” throughout North Texas. Proceeds from this event helps provide food, hope, and resources to individuals and families facing hunger across our 12-county service area.
Founded in 1982, the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is a private, nonprofit organization and proud member of the Feeding America and Feeding Texas networks. Through nearly 200 community partners and internal programs, the Food Bank collects, stores, and distributes food to neighbors in need throughout Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Haskell, Jack, Knox, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young counties.
Regionally, 1 in 5 individuals experiences food insecurity, including 1 in 4 children who may not know where their next meal will come from. The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank continues to explore innovative ways to fight hunger while relying on the generosity of community members, businesses, and organizations that help keep its mission alive.
All silent auction items have been graciously donated by talented local artists, sculptors, photographers, and students from Midwestern State University, who believe in the shared vision of building "Hunger Free Communities."
Their creativity and generosity helps Empty Bowls be a meaningful fundraiser, as well as a celebration of compassion, community, and hope.
