I was born with a sinus venosus ASD and partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, but I never knew it until I was diagnosed as an adult. In April 2024 at the age of 26, I underwent open heart surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell to repair the defect - something that may have gone undetected without advancements in medical research.
The Children's Heart Foundation funds research to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHDs). Their mission is personal to me because research made my diagnosis and life-saving surgery possible.
Running the NYC Marathon has always been a dream, but now it holds even greater meaning. I'm running to support CHD research, raise awareness, and help others born with heart defects get the care they need.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in funding life-saving research. If you're able to contribute, I would be incredibly grateful for your support!
** All donations go directly to The Children's Heart Foundation and are 100% tax-deductible **
If you're unable to donate, you can still help by sharing my fundraising page with your family, friends, and social networks.
Thank you so much again for your support!
