Hello and thank you for taking the time to view our page.

Mike and I are blessed to participate in a one day mission with our Bernal Church Family.  This coming  Saturday, November 7th we will spend the day with Cityteam Ministries who dedicate their time serving those who are in need of unconditional love.

The Engage Experience is an educational experience that will help us gain a greater understanding and compassion for those struggling with poverty, homelessness and addiction.  We will get a face to face, eye-opening immersion into the world of those who are being helped by Cityteam, it's staff and the countless volunteers who give their time and resources. 

A few facts we were surprised to know:

• Tonight over 14,617 people will be homeless tonight in the Bay Area. 
• Over 22% of all children in the US now live in poverty.
• Up to 1 in 4 requests for food assistance at food banks are turned away because of the great demand. 

But the statistics don’t tell the whole story.  The real story is found in the faces of the men, women, and children who struggle with poverty, homelessness and the impact of addiction every day.  They hope for a way out, to be self-sufficient and a chance for real change. A hot meal served by a compassionate Cityteam volunteer or staff member is the starting point for men, women, and children to receive the encouragement and hope they need to transform their lives.

The growing challenges for those struggling with poverty in the Bay Area are great and many but together we can make a difference!

So what can we do about it?  That's simple....we can choose to love one another! You can choose to join our team and come along with us, financially support our mission by donating to our personal page, or if you can't do either we would love your support through prayer.
