Have you ever passed by a homeless person and wondered "how did they get there?"

I had the privelege of listening to a brave 23 year old women share her story of neglect, abuse, drug addiction, pregnancy, homelessness and hope.  I was moved to my core.  Once again, I was reminded of how fortunate so many of us are and how circumstances have dealt many of us a better hand. 

This is why I am participating in Cityteam's Engage -- a day long immersion into homelessness, addiction and recovery. I will be spending the day in Cityteam's community and housing centers as well as the San Jose railroad tracks -- home to many.
