On Valentine's Day in 2017, I received the news that I had breast Cancer. I was 41 and had received the diagnosis from my first routine mammogram. Although later than recommended, I am grateful that I finally decided to get my first exam. I was fortunate to catch the cancer at an early stage. As a result, I encourage all women to get their routine mamograms annually. It can save their life!

In April of 2017, shortly after my lumpectmy, my family and friends joined me for the first annual Pink Ribbon Run. Team Cari-On has participated in every Pink Ribbon Run since in support of the survivors, metavivors, and in memory of those we've lost.
