Mission, Story, & Challenge
Camp del Corazon (CdC) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides year-round experiential opportunities for children faced with the challenges of growing up and living with heart disease. CdC provides a residential summer camp experience for children ages 7-17 as well as programs that offer opportunities for growth, education and support for children, young adults and the families who are living with heart disease/Congenital Heart Defects (CHD).
1 in 100 babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). I was born with CHD and it's something that I still to this day live with even after many many surgeries. Since I was 7 years old Camp del Corazon has provided a community and so much more. I owe so much to CdC and can truly say that has done SO much for me and my life as well as continue to do so. CdC, P.A.C.E., and the whole CHD community has all really made me who I am today and continues to shape me into being a better version of myself.
For my 30-day challenge I will be staying active, cycling everyday, and also practicing my spanish too, all while spreading awerness and fundraising of course!
