Saturday, April 2
Official Fast and Furriest Virtual 5K Kickoff Event
- 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- @ Dingo Dog Brewing Company (410 North Greensboro Street, Suite 150, Carrboro)
- Join us for an afternoon spent enjoying local brews, live music, raffles and more!
- T-shirt pick-up will be available for the duration of the event.
- Furry friends welcome!
Sunday, April 3
Pet Pantry's 5K Walk & T-Shirt Pick-Up
- Pick up your t-shirt between 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. then walk a 5K loop around the perimeter of the park at your leisure.

- Attendees will receive a complimentary bag of Pet Pantry dog treats!
Carrboro Run Club 5K Run & T-Shirt Pick-Up
- Run begins at 2 p.m. T-shirt pick-up begins at 1 p.m.

- Register & join the Carrboro Run Club's 5K team!
Tuesday, April 5
Fleet Feet Raleigh-Morrisville 5K Run & T-Shirt Pick-Up
- Run begins at 6 p.m. T-shirt pick-up begins at 5:30 p.m.

- Attendees can enter our raffle to win a set of four day passes to Triangle Rock Club!
Wednesday, April 6
Raleigh Brewing Run Club 5K Run & T-Shirt Pick-Up
- Run begins at 6:30 p.m. T-shirt pick-up begins at 6 p.m.

- Join the Raleigh Brewing Run Club, sponsored by Fleet Feet, for a 5K run and stay to enjoy a beverage.

Saturday, April 9
Courage Fitness 5K Event
- 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- @ Courage Fitness (410 West Geer Street, Durham)
- Join us and our friends at Courage Fitness at their indoor/outdoor space to enjoy a snack, meet some sweet pups, stock up on CF swag and enter to win tons of great prizes!
- Courage Fitness will raffle off incredible local items donated by fellow Durham businesses– such as a gift certificate to Accordion Club, gift baskets from Barnes Supply Co and Bull City Fair Trade, a gift certificate from Laundrymen and more! –as well as personal training sessions with their own CF instructors.
Sunday, April 10
Official Fast and Furriest After-Party
- 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- @ Queeny's (321 E Chapel Hill Street, Suite 100, Durham)
- Proof of vaccination required.
- The first 15 guests will receive complimentary drinks thanks to an anonymous donor!
- Live awards ceremony and raffle drawing!
- Register & join the Queeny's 5K team.
Where to 5K?
In addition to the 5K runs and walks listed above that will occur throughout the Fast and Furriest weeklong virutal event, there are plenty of great running and walking trails around the Triangle where you can complete a 5-kilometer/3.1-mile (or close to it!) run or walk:
- American Tobacco Trail (This 22-mile multiuse trail extends through Chatham, Durham and Wake Counties, and can be accessed at a variety of points)
- Apex Community Park (~3 miles of paved and natural trails)
- Eno River State Park (This state park has a number of trails of varying lengths)
- Lake Lynn Park (2.8-mile loop)

Ways to Engage
Connect with us and our community of animal-lovers! There are plenty of fun, simple, virtual ways to stay plugged in during the Weeklong Event:
- Bring or send photos of your 5K efforts or your IAR alum rescue pet (or both!) to Queeny's to hang on their cork board. You can also share a note explaining why you participated in the 2nd Annual Fast and Furriest Virtual 5K to benefit IAR.
- Get social with us! Tag @independentanimalrescue on Facebook and Instagram so that we can follow along on your 5K endeavor and highlight your awesome efforts.
