Why I'm going Over the Edge for the Flynn
Recently, I attended a performance of the Magic School Bus at the Flynn with my four year old granddaughter. She sat at the edge of her seat with rapt attention for the entire show. It was a wonderful shared experience!Over the Edge helps support the Flynn's student matinee performances. A series of 30+ per year matinees, including two performances of the Magic School Bus, serve approximately 35,000 children. Support of the matinees allows the Flynn to keep ticket prices to the lowest accessible access point and to offer free tickets to those students with high need. Support also allows the Flynn to reach out to rural and underserved schools, providing tickets and bussing support, thereby equalizing access for students from communities that have fewer opportunities to experience the arts.
Please make a donation to my fundraising page and then join me downtown on Saturday, August 31 as I rappel nine stories.
Help me reach my goal and support the cultural and education programs at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts!
Flynn Arts
- Last Fall, 240 students attended weekly dance, music and theater classes and over $6,500 was awarded in scholarships to students. It is exciting to see the variety of workshops and classes being offered. There is truly something for all ages.

Student Matinee Series
- A series of 30+ per year matinees serve approximately 38,000 children per year in grades PreK-12 from within a 120-mile radius.
- Support of the matinees allows ticket prices to be at the lowest accessible access point and to offer free tickets to those students with high need. Last year, 7,100 students attended for free!
- Support also allows the Flynn to reach out to rural and underserved schools, providing tickets and bussing support, thereby equalizing access for students from communities that have fewer opportunities to experience the arts.
