I am really crazy — er, I mean EXCITED — to go Over the Edge for the Flynn and rappel nine stories down the side of the Courtyard Marriott on Saturday, August 31. I would be so grateful if you would help me in my efforts to support the education programs at the Flynn by making a donation to my fundraising page. Every donation directly supports the Flynn’s efforts to nurture and expand the minds of our community’s children. Did you know that over 1/3 of the Flynn’s annual budget goes to education?! This event in support of the Flynn not only helps me raise some well-deserved financial support for their educational programs, but also helps me spread awareness that the Flynn is a non-profit organization and relies on community support.
I need to raise at least $1,000 to participate — and would love to far exceed the minimum— so every donation of any amount helps! Thank you for your support, both for me and for the great work being done by the Flynn!
Help me reach my goal and support the cultural and education programs at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts!
Flynn Arts
Last Fall, 240 students attended weekly dance, music and theater classes and over $6,500 was awarded in scholarships to students. It is exciting to see the variety of workshops and classes being offered. There is truly something for all ages.
A series of 30+ per year matinees serve approximately 38,000 children per year in grades PreK-12 from within a 120-mile radius.
Support of the matinees allows ticket prices to be at the lowest accessible access point and to offer free tickets to those students with high need. Last year, 7,100 students attended for free!
Support also allows the Flynn to reach out to rural and underserved schools, providing tickets and bussing support, thereby equalizing access for students from communities that have fewer opportunities to experience the arts.
Talented teens from across the state gather at the Flynn to produce high-quality theatrical productions under a professional team of artist-educators.
Over the course of several weeks, they build new skills, exercise their strengths, stretch their limits, and develop close friendships with peers who are passionate in similar ways!
Many graduates from the program have gone on to study in the top college, university, and conservatory theater programs around the country, and to pursue professional careers as performers.
