I am so excited to be a part of this amazing event again! Fashion for a cure raises money for Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast and ovarian cancer. Fashion for a Cure also helps raise awareness concerning breast cancer and offers education tools to the Binghamton University community. Fashion for a cure is an amazing event that brings together the women of the Binghamton community as well as outside of the community.
Why this is important to me
This year, I am fundraising for Sharsheret in honor of my mom. My mom is the strongest person I know, and breast cancer did not change that. She has been fighting cancer for the past few months, but she has never let it bring her down! I am so incredibly proud of her and the joy she continues to bring into everyone's life. She is my rock, my inspiration, my best friend, and the person I want to be when I grow up. She continues to fill our home with warmth, love, laughter, and delicious foods. She knew the next few months and even years would be the hardest thing she had to endure, but she pushed through with a smile on her face every day. My mom would not let cancer define the woman that she is. She continues to be my inspiration every day, and I hope to be just like her.
