My family and I are once again hosting our annual Flame Out Walk to raise money for RSDSA. This organization has been a great resource for my family throughout my 26 years of living with CRPS. They have helped us find new treatments, pointed us in the direction of doctors who are knowledgeable about CRPS, and have offered support during some of our darkest times. This walk is our way of giving back, so that they can continue their mission of making advancements for people living with this monster of a disease. I am fortunate to be stable right now, but most living with CRPS are not so lucky and live a life full of debilitating pain, which causes isolation and a feeling of fighting for your life alone. RSDSA helps to alleviate that burden by offering grants for treatment, support groups to help with the mental health aspect of what this disease causes through the trauma of losing a sense of who you once were, and by educating the medical community so that they are better equipped to treat patients with CRPS.
