Help me help Forklift Danceworks!
Hello friends & family! I am excited to be part of a community effort to raise $20,000 this July for my favorite 501(c)(3) arts organization, Forklift Danceworks - a revolutionary nonprofit dance company out of Austin, Texas that creates incredible community performances for public service employees and us regular folk who are not professional dancers!
Can you help me by chipping in $25, $50, $100 or more by July 22nd? I will personally match your donation!
Founded by my former dance choreography teacher, Allison Orr, Forklift is led by an incredible team of staff, board members, and volunters who care deeply about bringing people together through the arts across our challenges and differences.
Over the years, I have been lucky to be part of several Forklift Danceworks performances including:
- The King & I - an Elvis-themed show in which I made a guest appearance as a pink-haired Elvis impersonator!
- Greenlights Nonprofit Summit Flash Mob - I helped lead a flash mob for 300+ nonprofit professionals to "Eye of the Tiger" to kick off our citywide nonprofit conference
- Dances for Dogs (and the People Who Walk Them) - a partnership with Austin Animal Center from this past spring in which my dogs Ruby, Luna, and I got to showcase the love between humans and their dogs through movement!
Not to mention all the amazing Forklift shows I have witnessed and attended as a spectator! -- The Trash Project -- Bartholomew Swims -- and more!
Let's lead the world with love, arts, and dance.
In solidarity,
Emily
