Why is Junior Achievement important to the San Diego community? 
Junior Achievement’s mission and vision are not only important but also essential in creating a prosperous and competitive San Diego. By providing the necessary financial skills and workforce readiness to our students, we are fostering youths that will be well-equipped to lead San Diego into a better and brighter tomorrow. Adulthood and “the real world” are inevitable for everybody. Therefore, the more we prepare our future citizens and community leaders, the more successful San Diego will be. 

What inspires you to work with Junior Achievement?   
Before we begin the simulation at Finance Park, I always do this brief exercise with the students in which I ask them to envision themselves 10 years from now. I ask them to picture themselves at their happiest. I like to do this exercise because I think it gives them a perspective on the importance of financial literacy and how managing their finances is undeniably intertwined with achieving their goals. When they walk out of our doors, I want them to feel empowered knowing that they are one step closer to realizing their dreams. I believe in the power of championing our youths and am ecstatic to be working with an organization that accomplishes exactly that.
