Food is a huge passion for Yaniv Cohen. His love of food began at an early age, helping his mother cook and set the table. Growing up in a Sephardic Jewish family, with North African and Middle Eastern roots, food was and still is a passion, a way of life. For Yaniv, every holiday had its unique set of incredible, beautifully spiced dishes. He was always fascinated with the colors, scents and combinations. 

His goal as “The Spice Detective” is to share his passion and inspire others to enjoy the benefit of wholesome, real ingredients in a way that will not intimidate any level cook.

In 2018, Yaniv opened Jaffa in Miami, an Israeli-Mediterranean restaurant, inspired by spices and family traditions. He is also the author of My Spiced Kitchen cookbook and the winner of the Netflix cooking competition “Best Leftovers Ever.”

Amy Goldstein, a former teacher and dedicated community advocate, lives in Parkland with her three daughters. She has a deep love for helping her community, particularly through the Dorit and Ben J. Genet Cupboard, where she has volunteered for many years. Amy, who currently serves on the board of Goodman Jewish Family Services and the Jewish Federation of Broward County's Women's Philanthropy board where she co-chairs the Women's Learning Series, is passionate about her Jewish heritage. She bakes her own challah and hamantaschen and is committed to addressing food insecurity.

As current co-anchor of CBS News Miami, Lauren has over 15 years of experience in television, radio, and web-based news reporting, covering everything from crime and political corruption to hurricanes and historic events like the death of Fidel Castro and the March For Our Lives in Washington. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication-News and a Minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership, earning the Four-Year Scholar Award at commencement. Passionate about storytelling, Lauren loves to focus on positive stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, aiming to inform and inspire others to make positive impacts in their communities.
