Our daughter broke down crying at the breakfast table this morning feeling the weight of all that's wrong in this world. We encouraged her to channel her feelings into positive action. Please read what she wrote and prove to this ten-year old that there is still a lot of good in this world. She is fundraising to help solve hunger in Northern Illinois and she's asking you to join her.
It all started one day, when I saw a cold and hungry homeless man shivering on a bench. So many emotions ran through my mind. I needed to help, but I didn't know how. Then I thought that I needed to help everyone who was struggling to survive in this world. For everyone as a life to live, and that life should be happy and peaceful. But life isn't always fair, some people live their life in despair. Then I thought of all the things I could do to help. I could read of pirates and fairies to the young and old in need. I could volunteer at programs that could help people. But then I soon realized "how will I do that with COVID-19?" Then I ran to my mom and my dad and asked them "what should I do?" My parents had a brilliant idea that you are reading now. They told me to write my feelings down on paper, then show everyone how I feel. But you can change this. We can change this. There was a light in me, another part of my heart that wanted to help. I hope that after you read this you will have a light too.
