Let's send lunch to Bois Negresse, Haiti!
With Future Forward for Haiti's Gallatin Valley Packathon
I'm fundraising to help children in Bois Negresse, Haiti, so they can have lunch every school day - and when the money is raised, I'll help pack the lunches!
A few things about Haiti:
Only 60% of adults can read at a 6th grade level.
Their government does not provide school to rural communities.
The average income is $350 per year.
Some children cannot count on even one meal a day.
With hundreds of other volunteers, I will help assemble vitamin fortified lunches of rice, beans, and dehydrated vegetables to send to students at the Light and Peace School in Bois Negresse (trans. Blackwood). The congregation Grant and I serve, Christ the King Lutheran Church, gets to host this wonderful event - 2021 will be our "second annual" Packathon for Haiti. Over the course of two days, we'll have five 90 minute packing sessions.
- Raise $27,000 for packing ingredients
- Provide lunches for 250 students for the entire 2021-22 school year.
Pack at least 240 meals, and
Raise at least $1000 to help purchase and transport the food.
Can you help me? The children who will receive these meals cannot always count on even one meal a day at home. How can they learn if they don't eat? How can they improve their lives if they don't learn? Please Donate Now to help me reach my goal of providing lunch for these students for a whole school year. It's going to feel so good!
