Our family first participated in this event 5 years ago, very shortly after my mom's fight against breast cancer ended on 10/1/2012. The spirit of the day along with the incredible amounts of support from family and friends brought us a great deal of comfort and peace.
We have continued to participate each year since. This year, the walk/run falls on the 5 year anniversary of my mother's passing, so it will be an extra special and touching day. It's hard to believe we have lived 5 years of our lives without her. We look forward to remembering her and giving back to the community of men and women who continue to fight this terrible disease.
