Working with GIFT has been an amazing experience. Last year, my cohort raised over $12,000, allowing us to support 4 organizations that fight domestic violence. Under the umbrella of our core shared values, "compassion" and "do not stand idly by in the face of injustice," we led the philanthropic process, from researching organizations and analyzing budgets to fundraising and ultimately granting our funds. It was wonderful working with my fellow teens, who were eager to give back to their community.

This year, I am excited to do it all again. As Seattle continues to grapple with homelessness and poverty, the second-year cohort is ready to make a difference in the community. Guided by our core values of responsibility, sustainability, and pursuing peace, we are ready to research, to analyze, to fundraise for organizations based in Seattle and across the world.
