What is Gilda’s Club Madison?

Gilda’s Club Madison is a nonprofit cancer support community that provides free emotional support, cancer education, and hope to thousands of children and adults impacted by any kind of cancer and to those who care for them. Is Gilda's Run/Walk virtual this year?

No...and yes! In 2023 we will host an in-person race on October 1. We will also offer a virtual option for anyone who prefers to run or walk on their own.

What is a virtual race?

Although Gilda's Run/Walk will be offered in-person this year, you may choose to participate virtually. A virtual race is a race that you can do anywhere and anytime! How does it work? You can run your 5k or walk your two miles anywhere, anytime during the month of October. Please note: virtual runners are not eligible for prizes awarded to the top race finishers; however, you ARE eligible for top fundraiser prizes.

What date should I finish fundraising?

To qualify for fundraising thank-you gifts, we ask that you complete your fundraising by September 25 at 11:00 am CST. Fundraising websites will continue to be live through the end of October. 

What should I do with cash and/or check donations that I receive?

Mail or drop off cash/checks to Gilda’s Club Madison, 7907 UW Health Ct, Middleton, WI 53562. Please be sure to include your full name and team name if applicable. Please mail by September 21st to ensure funds are included in your fundraising totals.

Can I split the distance up into different runs/walks/days?

If you participate virtually, we encourage you to take your time and make this event your own. If you participate on the event date, the 5k will need to be completed during the event times.

When can I pick up my Run/Walk packet?

Packet pickup will be at Gilda's Club Madison (7907 UW Health Ct. in Middleton) on the following dates/times:

• Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm @ Gilda’s Clubhouse (7907 UW Health Court in Middleton)

• Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 8:00 am - 9:30 am prior to the Start of the Run/Walk @ Gilda's Club Parking Lot (7907 UW Health Court in Middleton)

Can I have my shirt shipped?

Of course! We can ship your t-shirt and packet to you for a fee, but be sure to add the shipping option on during the registration process.

Shirts will be shipped by November 1.
