I have had the privilege of working at Phoenix Community Development Services for the past eight years. During this time, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and hardships that individuals and families experiencing homelessness face on a daily basis. I've also seen the profound impact that community support, compassion, and resources can have in helping people rebuild their lives. These experiences have shaped my commitment to this cause and drive my participation in the Gimme Shelter fundraiser.

That's why I am participating in Gimme Shelter 2025. On the evening of Friday, February 21st, I will be spending the night outside at the Peoria RiverPlex, in a cardboard box or vehicle. I will experience a bit of what it's ike to be outside, overnight, in the Central Illinois cold - something that homeless people face every night of the year!  The money I raise will help Phoenix Community Development Services to provide the permanent supportive housing and homeless outreach services that are necessary end homelessness in our community.
