On Friday, February 21st, Phoenix Community Development Services will host the Gimme Shelter event at the RiverPlex in Peoria, Illinois. This exciting and impactful event aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and provides a meaningful opportunity for our community to get involved in the fight to end homelessness in Central Illinois.

What’s Gimme Shelter All About?
Our team will be participating in Gimme Shelter by spending the night OUTSIDE in a cardboard box or vehicle, experiencing what it’s like to be without a home in the cold winter months. For one night, we’ll get a small taste of the harsh realities faced by the homeless in our community—something they endure night after night, throughout the year.
