I wanted to do something good and make the world a better place. When I found out about the hundreds of families, individuals and veterans in our community with nowhere to call home - I knew I had to do something to help!
That's why I am participating in Gimme Shelter 2026. On the evening of Friday, February 20th, I will be spending the night outside at the Peoria RiverPlex, in a cardboard box or vehicle. I will experience a bit of what it's ike to be outside, overnight, in the Central Illinois cold - something that homeless people face every night of the year! The money I raise will help Phoenix Community Development Services to provide the permanent supportive housing and homeless outreach services that are necessary end homelessness in our community.
