St. Philip Lutheran's Gingerbread Church

St. Philip Lutheran Church is representing Habitat's Holy Hammers faith coalition in this year's Gingerbread Build competition. Our High School Youth Group and Middle School Confirmation Class worked together to build our gingerbread creation. Our creation of a church complete with stained glass windows, Christmas Choir on the lawn, and nativity scene was constructed with care and all the candy and treats imaginable. The professional welders carefully laid the foundation with graham crackers and frosting. The window team created beautiful stained glass from jolly ranchers. The nativity teamed worked together to create an amazing scene complete with marshmallow sheep, baby Jesus in a pretzel manger, Mary, Joseph, and an Angel above. The choir singers are all unique in clothing and hair styles constructed from homemade gingerbread people using frosting and fruit rollups for clothing and hair. The trees around the church were created with chocolate and pretzel rods, decorated with sprinkles and m&m's! The group is hoping to raise tons of money for habitat to match the tons of FUN they had creating this masterpiece!
