If you know me, you already know that I care a lot about protecting the rights and wellbeing of immigrants, who are often very vulnerable both politically and economically.

This fundraiser, propitiously timed to start on my 42nd birthday, raises money for an organization I love and have volunteered with. OneAmerica doesn't just provide services to immigrants in the Seattle area, it also works to build power within immigrant communities. The free intensive ESL class I volunteered with taught English and basic tech skills, but also the basics of community organizing and mobilization.
