I'm originally from Paterson, NJ, so why did I uproot my life to move across the country to work for OneAmerica? After having spent ten years in organizing in different fields, and I craved a space that was visionary and wanted to aim at what was seemingly impossible. I found that in One America. I started organizing in my college years because I believed in the power of people—the power we inherently have of our voice. For women of color like myself, it is sometimes a journey to uncover that power. I am thankful to be a part of a strong group of people who work hard every day to execute the mission and vision for our immigrant and refugee communities. As the organizing director, I get the most joy out of collaborating with the organizing team and watching them build their skills and thrive as leaders in the community.
Help us continue to work towards a peaceful world where every person's human rights and dignity are respected, where communities appreciate differences and stand together for justice and equality, and where each person contributes to the common good.
