I came to this country as a wide-eyed ten-year old, certain Seattle would be full of snow and Santa would be at every corner giving away presents. While I soon grew disappointed in the lack of Santa and real snow, I did become aware of the injustices in this country. Going through the immigration system with my family exposed me to the prejudices and bureaucratic nightmare inherent in our immigration system. 

The last four years have heightened and highlighted the racism and white supremacy in our systems. Now it’s time for all of us to fight for a just and humane immigration system. This is our chance to create lasting change and a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants who call this country home.

I GiveBIG to OneAmerica because I am proud to work alongside such incredible advocates and grassroots leaders who are putting their lives on the line and pivoting to Zoom organizing (see below). I GiveBIG because I have already been involved in incredible victories, from winning $300 million from the state legislature for undocumented workers to fighting for inclusive COVID-relief.
