We made it through four tough years together and set a course for a new direction for our country. Now it’s time for all of us to fight for a just and humane immigration system. This is our chance to create lasting change and a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants who call this country home.

I GiveBIG to OneAmerica because OneAmerica fights stategically and powerfully for immigrants and refugees. In my previous work, I served as a university employee advocating on behalf of undocumented students and folks of all immigration statuses. In college, I founded the first-ever Middle Eastern Culture Fest and Professional Development Night, believing that students feel safer and more comfortable on campus when they see themselves represented culturally and professionally. But immigration status was often a barrier to this sense of safety and access on campus.

Now, as a member of the Washington New Americans team at OneAmerica, I serve green-card holders helping them access free, high quality legal services to apply for their citizenship. Citizenship can mean earning a higher income, access to resources like scholarships, the ability to exercise your civic voice to vote, and most importantly - security from deportation. Gaining your citizenship can change a person's life - as it did for my family. You can be a part of creating a pathway of security for millions of people.
