This goal of $1000 donations is going to the Rohingya Refugees. Rohingya people long faced violence, discrimination, and conflict in Myanmar. As of March 2019, there were over 909,000 stateless Rohingya refugees. This number continues to grow. Recently, there was a Rohingya refugee camp that was consumed in fire. This fire displaced more than 45,000 refugees and had destroyed the camps hospital and main food and education centers. 400 people are missing and 11 poeple have reportedly already died. “This fire has ripped through one of the most vulnerable communities in the world. Rohingya refugees need our support now more than ever, as the pandemic continues to take its toll and they approach the monsoon season”, Mark Lowcock, UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, said. It gets worse and worse, people are constantly being displaced from their last shelters, starving, as violence still happens. Donate now. Every cent is needed.
