Junior Achievement provides educational programs for the region’s youth to teach skills often not prioritized in school, such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work/career readiness. For example, I began work with them in Tampa doing in-classroom presentations and activities centered around how money moves through banks and local economies. I am also happy to say they score high on multiple charity ratings sites, indicating the bulk of funds go to the actual programs for children in need vs. overhead or excessive executive compensation:

• 91% / 4 star rating on Charity Navigator

After working in automotive lending for a few months back in 2015, I realized how few people get as strong a financial education in school and upbringing (thanks, Matt and Susan) as me. I witnessed everything from 20%+ interest rates on car loans to bankruptcies. I decided at that time any charity that I support and volunteer for would be dedicated to educating young people in financial literacy.
