On August 1st I celebrated the 8th Anniversary of my single lung transplant.
On September 2nd I celebrated my 79th birthday. WOW! I am a lucky woman!
You all know my story. I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2004. It was caused by Scleroderma. Maybe that was why progression was slow, fortunately for me. Then in 2012 I was put on the transplant list and the transplant happened at NY Presbyterian/Columbia hospital.
My goal is to find a cure for this terrible disease. It can have no cause (idiopathic) or there is a cause, like mine. It robs people of enjoying life. It can happen to anyone, at any age. It has no cure.
