Why I Support Gunpowder Valley Conservancy
Formed in 1989, Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) is a Baltimore County-based land trust and watershed restoration nonprofit. When you donate to my personal fundraising page, your tax-deductible donation helps GVC promote and work for:
Clean drinking water from Prettyboy and Loch Raven Reservoir
Climate resiliency through native tree plantings and preserved lands
Community pride in neighborhood streams that have regular clean-up events
Pollinator habitat that also filters pollutants and reduces standing water
Protecting our community watershed is something that should unite us all. Please help me reach my fundraising goal and make a difference for future generations!
GVC's community hike at Marshy Point in Spring 2024. We held community building events each quarter this year to connect with our neighbors and volunteers in a fun way.
In October GVC attended the 19th annual Chesapeake Watershed Forum hosted by Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay at The National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, WV. It was three days of amazing sessions, social networking, collaborating, learning and a wonderful time overall. We cannot wait to implement what we learned in the upcoming year!
Our amazing group of volunteers who came out this spring to help us plant 150 trees at Hampton National Historic Site in Towson, MD. GVC has currently planted 450 trees across the grounds of Hampton National Historic Site with the help of volunteers and Park staff since Fall of 2023 and looks forward to continuing to look for other opportunities to partner with them.
Since I am on the team "Charlie's Angels" it only makes sense to share a photo of the man/the legend himself! Charlie Conklin. He is one of my favorite people and I am so blessed to get to work with him and learn from him as he helps us all around and comes out to volunteer with GVC!
