Join me in lifting lives UP!
It’s been my privilege to serve as the Community Board Chair for UP Orlando since June of 2019. This year, our biggest fundraiser, the Hand UP Luncheon, had to be canceled due to Covid 19. So, we’re taking the process virtual, and I’m asking for your help.
If you don’t know, United Against Poverty Orlando is a nonprofit that helps lift working poor and low-income families to self-sufficiency. UP Orlando is not a traditional food bank or soup kitchen. Their programs focus on teaching empowerment, rather than entitlement, to help our struggling neighbors break free from the cycle of poverty. You know me, this mission is right up my alley, to engage clients and provide the skills and resources they need through a hand up, not a handout.
I hope you will join me in helping UP Orlando lead community-driven programs that produce deep and lasting change. Their campus located at 150 W. Michigan Street has earned recognition as the busiest single-site social service agency in the state of Florida, serving an average of 525 families each day.
