My Story

Hi! My name is Cassidy and I'm from a small town in Ohio called Saint Henry. I am 21 years young and have 1 sister and 5 brothers! I first started out here as a 1st year missionary in 2021 and went back home after the year was finished. I went back home because at the time I felt I wasn't being called to serve a 2nd year. However, I knew deep in my heart the reason I returned home was because my 1st year was by far one of the hardest years of my life. I was forced to deal with things I had experienced as a kid for the first time in my life. I had pushed my struggles down to where I completely forgot about them but Christ brought those struggles to the light. When I went home after my 1st year I had come to the realization that Christ had changed my life forever and I was a completely different person. My brain had literally altered from the moment I was there to the minute I came back and my whole outlook on life was changed. I was experiencing hope for the first time in my life. I can’t thank God enough because, over that year of being home, I felt a desire to go back to Hard as Nails and to follow my vocation of helping people. So I’m happy to say I finally listened to God and I’m back for however many years he has called me to be here! I can't wait to see what God has planned this year because my smile is finally genuine and I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.

 

The How

This year HAN is based in 3 different catholic highschools around the area. What this means is that we will be hosting confirmation retreats, leadership retreats, attending sporting events, bible studies, going to school mass, and being in the school on a weekly basis interacting with the kids. As this takes place back here, there will also be a team of missionaries on tour across the USA spreading the mission and vision of making a world where no one suffers alone by awakening the world to the power of God's love!
