Our grandson Finley was in a bit of a hurry to be born in February of 2014. He arrived early at 29 ½ weeks, weighing 3.2 lbs. Finley was born with congenital heart disease. He has aortic stenosis and mitral stenosis. He began his lengthy stay in the NICU at St. Paul Children’s Hospital and then was transferred to the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Minneapolis Children’s hospital in April of 2014 for his first cardiac procedure. He had a valvuloplasty on his aortic valve to allow for greater flow through the valve. In May of 2014, after 82 days in the hospital Finley was able to come home. In July of 2014, Finley had another valvuloplasty on his aortic valve and had a short stay in the hospital. In July of 2015, at 18 months old, Finley had open heart surgery to repair his mitral valve. Finley is followed closely by his pediatrician and cardiologist and has had the BEST care at both St. Paul and Minneapolis Children’s Hospitals. Finley has been through a lot and is such a brave little boy! He has a loving, supportive family that have kept him strong and will continue to keep him strong and will walk this path with him.

There will be more surgeries in Finley's future, so we would like to raise money to help support the cardiovascular program at Children's.
