We'll again be doing the Heartbeat 5000 walk this year in honor of Hazel RaeAnn. Heartbeat 5000 is a fundraiser that supports the cardiac unit of Children's Hospitals of Minnesota. The exact place where Hazel has successfully undergone two open heart surgeries, with another planned for some time in 2017. I cannot express the thanks and gratitude my family feels for all the doctors, nurses, surgeons, and other staff up there in that cardiac unit. They have all become a sort of second family to us; always making sure Mom and Dad are comfortable and informed, and genuinely care for the well-being of our sweet little girl. Hazel has been a rockstar through all of her last 17 months of life. Her cardiac health is stable and she continues to meet all of her milestones. She's our true miracle!
