Colten Christian Robertson was born on February 15th, 2013 with Congenital Heart Defects. He spent his first 7 months of life at Childrens Hospital in Minneapolis and went through 6 open heart surgeries. When he was finally able to go home in September of 2013 he thrived at home and we thought he wouldn't need another heart surgery for years. In fall of 2015 Colten went into heart failure, and this time his heart could not be repaired. He was transferred to another hospital and placed on a heart transplant waiting list. On February 12th, 2016...Colten died while waiting for a new heart...3 days before his 3rd Birthday. His little body just couldn't wait anymore. The team in the cardiac unit at Childrens became like family to us and was a huge part of our journey.
