As a former patient at Children's Hospital's and Children's Heart Clinic, Sara Hanzlik started this team to bring family, friends and heart warriors of all kinds together to support Pediatric Cardiovascular care at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota!

Sara was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects in 1987. At 5 months old, she had open-heart surgery to repair them and remained a patient at Children's well into her adult life, frequenting Children's for check-ups and tests. Sara was issued a clean bill of health in 2010, shortly before the retirement of her life-long pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Amarjit Singh. 

Children's of Minnesota performs 60% of the pediatric cardiac surgeries in the region, with 11,000+ heart surgeries performed since the inception of the cardiovascular program in 1977.  To learn more visit;
