Our daughter Addison was born on 2/21/12 with a congenital heart defect (along with heterotaxy, asplenia and intestinal malrotation).  She underwent laparoscopic surgery at 2 days to fix the malrotation, and had heart surgeries at 6 months and 8 months to repair her heart, close one of the holes with an Amplatzer device and protect her lungs.  In August of 2014, she underwent one more surgery to remove the band they placed around her pulmonary artery to protect her lungs, and everything went great.  We are now down to just an annual check-up at the Heart Clinic, and are cautiously optimistic that she won't need any additional surgeries.  However, just to keep things interesting, Addie was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue in April 2014.  She's been gluten-free ever since, and it has clearly made a difference in her growth and development.

Addie is doing fantastic, and has developed into a sweet, sassy and curious pre-schooler.  None of this would have been possible without the amazing staff and resources available at Children's and the Children's Heart Clinic.  They have truly become extended family, and we are so fortunate to have them in our community.  Please join us to celebrate Addie's accomplishments and support this phenomenal, life-changing program.   Thanks!
