In 1988, Carolyn had a vision to create a sacred place where neighbors, visitors, friends, family, and nature enthusiasts alike could come, connecting community to nature. Carolyn’s leadership, passion, and persistence brought a rebirth to the land and a renaissance of public concern for conservation of the area’s natural resources. It is Carolyn’s Heart and Soul that has created, today, what is a multi-campus, multi-program organization that serves multiple generations! As she transitions out of day- to-day operations at The Cibolo, and into higher levels of conservation, land acquisitions, preservation, and legacy endowments, we want to honor her, her Heart and Soul, and her legacy that continues to grow.
